Manifold Heights Baptist Church
A Brief History

1914: Manifold Heights is planted from a group of people at Aberdeen St. Baptist.   A large tent is errected to host services.

1915: The wind takes care of the tent and a new church hall is planned, built and put into commsion.

1967: The cornerstone is laid for the new Mano Chapel to be build over the exisiting tennis courts.

1969-present: services have been held in the Chapel ever since!

The mid 1980's saw an extension built to house a kitchen, multi-purpose rooms and bathrooms.  The was largely completed by volunteers from Mobile Mission Maintenance

Over the 111 years of history, many amazing things have happened in these spaces, but sadly, lack of maintenance has meant that much work is needed to bring the church-on-the-corner back to its former beauty.  As we wish to be create spaces that bless our community for many years to come, , From July 2024 to present we have been working on a master plan.

Over the last two yeras we have taken steps to reviatilise the current spaces including adding heating/cooling to the chapel, fixing leaky roofs, replacing old and broken furnishings, updating electrical and more.

There's much work left to do, but as we are determined to be a useful and vital part of the Manifold Heights community for many decades, we are excited to keep working until the whole block becomes something the whold community can be proud of.

Feel free to join us anytime; good news is always on the menu.
